About the Golf Course

Since its inception in 1998, and designed by James Healy, Rathbane Golf Course is a public golf course, owned by Limerick City and County Council and operated by Mack Trading Ltd since 2001.

It has welcomed golfers of all skill levels, providing a gateway to the world of drives and putts for novices and experts alike. Rathbane Golf Club is also celebrating its silver anniversary having formed the same year.

Situated on the outskirts of the city, Rathbane Golf Course is owned by Limerick City and County Council and operated by Mack Trading Ltd. Over the last quarter of a century the course has facilitated over a million rounds of golf while proudly maintaining its Best Value Golf reputation.

With a staggering average of forty thousand rounds of golf played each year, the course has witnessed an impressive array of birdies, eagles, and yes, even a few bogeys!

The course has evolved as a challenging terrain for low handicap golfers, while remaining accessible and fair to complete beginners. A significant milestone in Rathbane's history was reached in 2008, when Limerick City and County Council, in collaboration with the Department of Tourism, invested substantially in the course's redevelopment.

This investment saw the introduction of new tee boxes, a serene lake, and an enhanced green, solidifying Rathbane's reputation as a top-tier golfing destination. Operating under the stewardship of Mack Trading Ltd., Rathbane Golf Course has consistently raised the bar year after year. Its commitment to improvement has transformed it into a golfing destination to rival the area's premier courses.
