The Rathbane Student Golf Society is open to ANY Student of ANY College in Full-Time Third Level Education.

Step One
Join the League
For just €25, joining the Rathbane Student Golf League offers unbeatable value! Your membership gives you free entry to weekly and monthly competitions, access to discounted club hire, and the chance to win great prizes. Plus, you’ll be part of a vibrant golf community where you can improve your skills, make new friends, and enjoy the game. A portion of your fee also supports student equipment, academic pursuits, and league operations—ensuring a well-run, rewarding experience. It’s the perfect way to play golf affordably while getting the most out of your time on the course!

Step Two
Approval
Once your approved on our system, you will be put onto our email list and announcement WhatsApp group. This group will announce the weekly and monthly winners and relay any relevant information.
We will also assign you a handicap to play off for the competition. If you aren't sure how it works, click the link below where we have a video to explain how a golf handicap works.
Step Three
Get out Golfing
Now that you've been accepted it's time to golf. You will get a link to book a tee time, no matter what price you select you'll only pay €15 which includes your competition entry free as you get that for Free. (IT IS CRUCIAL YOU CLICK PAY AT COURSE, DO NOT PAY ONLINE AS THIS MONEY DOES NOT GO TO US. YOU MUST CLICK PAY AT COURSE).
Each week you can enter as many times as you want and your best score is all that counts.
Step Four
Completing your round
Once you finish your round, make sure your scorecard is fully filled out, the marker has signed it too (they must be in the league), scan the QR on the post box and enter your score for the round. You should be entering your strokes for the round, not your points. Then submit the form and place your scorecard in the box and we do the rest.
Once we total the scores at the end of each week/month, we will post the results in the WhatsApp group including a breakdown of the prizes.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I have to be a course member to join the league and play competitions?

No you don't! Once you join the Student Golf Society (Join Here), by paying €25, you can pay a Greenfly of €15 (our standard student with ID rate) and get entry to the weekly and monthly leagues for free.
If I don't want to play in the league this week but have paid the €25, can I just avail of a discounted greenfly?

Unfortunately no. The entry to the competition is free, the greenfly price has not changed from €15.
I am a student in a part-time course on evenings or online, can I join the league?

At the moment we only accept student in full time third level education. We are working on ways of allowing all students to participate, but currently this is not allowed.
I don't have a current handicap or I've never had one, how can I get one?

At the moment we are giving members of the golf society a temporary handicap to play in competitions, we will be able to adjust this handicap as needed until you are in a position to get an official handicap. This temporary handicap will only be valid within our own league and only in Rathbane.
Once I join, how soon is it before I can participate?

You can play in a competition the same day, but you are not able to win a prize until you have been validated by our team. We recommend you bring your student ID, letter from the college, and student number with you when joining, to speed up the process. once you have been approved you will get an email to confirm your are good to go.
Is the league open to any gender of player?

Abolsutely ! ! Every one who participates enters the same competition, the handicaps will be adjusted to level the playing field, so everyone Is equal.
