Men's Captains Welcome
Dear Member,

On behalf of the Rathbane men's Golf Club, I wish to welcome everybody to the club. I am delighted and very grateful to have been elected to the captain's role for the 2026 season. I will endeavour to carry out the captain's role to the best of my ability.

I look forward to working with Mack Trading, the ladies club and the junior club and promoting golfing in the Limerick area. I would encourage all members to participate in the club competitions.
Please replace divots, repair pitch marks and keep up with the group ahead to make a more enjoyable round of golf for everyone.
I hope you have an enjoyable year at the Rathbane golf course.

Michael Ryan (Men’s Captain)

Procedures for joining the Club

Before joining the Club, one must be a paid-up member of Rathbane Golf Course. Fees and special offers can be found on https://www.rathbanegolfcourse.com/. A brochure entitled ‘Information and guidelines on the Game of Golf for new members of the Men’s club’ is available at reception or from the club secretary.

Being a member of the Club entitles you to membership of Golf Ireland with many benefits such as having an official handicap and being able to play in club and inter-club competitions, play in open competitions organised by any club, and the ability to book reserved tee times for competitions. Membership application forms are available at reception or from any member of the Men’s or Ladies’ Committees. For 2026, the membership fee is €50 (€30 of which is for membership of Golf Ireland) and should be paid by 31st January. All members are required to pay a further €20 competition credit.

An optional personal insurance is available from 1st April at a cost of €25.
So, to join the Club, simply fill in the application form with your up-to-date details: name, date of birth, address, mobile number, email address and course number. Place it with the fee of €70 in the fees box (under the computer). You will then be added to the members’ WhatsApp group.
How do I get a handicap?

New members are required to submit three 18-hole score cards (or six 9-hole score cards), signed by the member and another Golf Ireland member. Write ‘For Handicap Purposes’ on the cards. These cards can be placed in the score cards box. The Handicap secretary will then issue an official handicap. The allocation of a provisional handicap until the cards are assessed is no longer allowed by Golf Ireland rules.

Competitions

All members can book tee times using the BRS app. This app is managed by Mack Trading.
In addition to the various competitions shown in the Fixtures List, there is a weekly Seniors (over 55 years of age) competition every Thursday. The tee times will be on the BRS app. The Seniors also arrange outings to other golf clubs during the year. There will also be a mid-week competition for men on Tuesdays.
